Rain, rain, go AWAY!

It's been a VERY rainy month in Atlanta, but nothing as rainy as last Monday. I was well prepared for the flood in my "Hello Kitty" rain coat. I stayed perfectly dry . . .
. . . but our basement did not . . .

(the carpet was soaked from the underside so everywhere you stepped left a soggy foot print)

We were VERY fortunate to have only about 2" of CLEAN water in our basement. I would like to send a HUGE shout-out to Unkie Will who came to save the day, delivering a wet/dry shop vac and a box fan, along with some muscle and reassurance. He's a property manager and BOY is he good at what he does! I'm also very proud of Daddy for removing the baseboards, drilling ventilation holes and ripping out the carpet all by himself! We'll be getting new carpet soon. (Just how Mommy and Daddy wanted to spend their "rainy day" fund - ha ha ha!) Thank you to everyone for your prayers and concern. Please keep praying for those truly devastated by the Atlanta flood of 2009.
